This year, we are moving on Christmas morning (we're starting our road trip to Florida with a stop at Alex's uncle Art's house in Indiana to spend Christmas with him and his wife)! It's been crazy packing but at this point I feel like we are pretty much professional movers. The car is almost halfway packed and we just need to finish cleaning up the kitchen, and all of the other rooms really, and peeling all of Lily's stickers off the floor this morning.
We've been getting packages for Lily all week and have been opening them as they come. I know, I know, we aren't supposed to open our presents early but with the move and all, this has been nice. And next year, I promise we'll wait. Thank you to everyone who thought of us and sent us a card or a package! It makes my heart so happy, and Lily was so excited to open every package. :)
This morning, I'm thinking we're going to run to Trader Joe's to buy milk and cookies, have some kind of special breakfast, and get back to packing and cleaning while we snack on Christmas goodies. We're also going to have a special little family Bible study tonight and read the Christmas story with Lily, and then our favorite part of our Christmas eve tradition is going to Midnight Mass! It's going to be so hard saying goodbye to St. Joseph's parish and the priests and all of the warmth of the church and the way it just feels like home in a lot of ways, but I am excited for our adventure ahead and pray that we will find a new community wherever we go.
So merry Christmas eve, from our family to yours!
I hope your Christmas season is blessed and joyful and full of the love of Jesus.
