Our lives are like little teacups of water and I am learning to be intentional of what I steep myself it. For the past year, it has been a mess of materialism and worries, selfish complaining of how often we move and how hard it is to do what I do, and pinterest dreams of "perfection". There was ambition and competition, judgement and arrogance. But where was Jesus in all of that? I left no room for him. There is only so much I can handle as I breathe and I am promising myself today to only take in what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and worthy of praise.
My life is like a cup of tea and I will brew what I put into it.
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you." (Phillipians 4:8-9)
