Today, Lily was baptized and we were confirmed into the Catholic Church. It was such a simple and sweet ceremony, just us, the priest, and a wonderful lady named Mary who was Lily's sponsor. The priest also gave a little blessing over our marriage and it was all so sweet! For a few years now, Alex and I have been slowly finding our home in the Church. We've studied their doctrine and spent a lot of time in prayer about it, and both knew it was the right thing to do. And now, it's official!
Even though we're so far from home right now, I am so thankful that we get to share this special day with friends and family through our blog! All of your support and love means the world to us.
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
Maker of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the
hand of the Father.
come again in
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom
have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy
and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one
for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
of the world to come. Amen.
